2. Miso-Mango Salad:

Start by whisking together 1/4 cup white miso, 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a large bowl.

4. Miso Carrot Soup:

Start by sautéing 2 cloves of garlic in some olive oil until fragrant. Then add in 3 cups of diced carrots and cook for 5 minutes until they start to soften.

Add 4 cups of vegetable broth to the pot along with 1/4 cup miso paste and bring the soup to a boil before reducing heat to low and simmering for 15 minutes until carrots are tender.

Finish off the soup by blending until smooth before serving with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley or cilantro on top.

5. Miso-Glazed Salmon:

Start by whisking together 2 tablespoons miso paste with 1 tablespoon mirin, 2 teaspoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon honey and some freshly grated ginger in a small bowl until smooth.

Miso fun facts and tips

Miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning made from fermented soybeans, rice, barley, or other grains. It is rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals and has a wide range of uses.

For a quick snack, add miso paste to boiled edamame for an extra flavor kick. When cooking with miso, it’s best to add it near the end of the cooking process as the flavor can become bitter if exposed to high temperatures for too long.

To make an easy miso soup, combine 4 cups of broth with 2 tablespoons of miso paste and simmer for several minutes until heated through. Enjoy!
